Well it's the end of an era as Heartbeat is finally cancelled! Alongside the Antiques Roadshow and Last of the Summer Wine I always associate this with Sunday nights and fearing going to school the following morning. Good Fucking Riddance I say.

I feel as though it would be a missed opportunity for it not to go out with a grand finale though. Perhaps it could be something along the lines of M. Night Shyamalan's The Village, whereby it is revealed its not actually the 60s at all and the village of Aidensfield is actually a commune of Daily Mail readers who want to literally as well as metaphorically live in the past.
