Judging by how tired I feel at the minute I think I could sleep for England this weekend.  The last few weekends I've got in the habit of massively over sleeping, catching up for staying up far too late for no reason during the week, and so generally wasting a lot of my free time.  This is totally out of the question this weekend(!) as we've friends staying and I can't let them see the state that I normally live in so some intense tidying is planned as soon as I get in this evening, though I'll probably get sidetracked by Assassin's Creed again.  The last month or so new cat Lily has completely taken over our fairly small flat with her climbing apparatus, toys, and her general demeanour, so this hasn't helped things too much.  Speaking of Lily, she hasn't bitten me in a couple of weeks or pissed on the bed in maybe 3 so it looks as though she's settling in after 6 weeks in our company.

Queuing at the petrol station this morning I noticed the old man who was being served before me paid for £20.00 of petrol on the nose, not a penny more or less, and handed over a single crisp note as payment. Pretty smooth I thought. He clearly knew exactly what he was going to do, and in fact he probably left his house with only his car keys and that 1 note. He was obviously gambling on his keen reflexes to halt the flow exactly as the digits rolled round to zeroes. But what if an event outside of his control had thrown his plan, a gust of wind, or an arthritic twinge, or wind? I like to think he would have produced a zippo from his pocket, turned the hose on his bald head and performed self-immolation. At least that's what I like to think would have happened, but who knows?

How to lose friends and alienate people

2/10 - I suppose the only original thing about this romantic
comedy is that it has a little romance and no discernible comedy,
besdies a couple of half decent lines . I imagine
the only way you could enjoy this is if you took it as the broadest
piece of mainstream turd imaginable a forgot every single other film
you've ever
seen.
Apart from wasting part of my weekend watching that most of the rest was taken
up with work. I got called out at midnight Friday, then all
Saturday afternoon. I did get to forget about it slightly Saturday
night when I went to see Ladyhawke a Leeds cockpit, and looking on
the bright side all the waiting by the phone did give me a chance to
catch up on some xboxing. After 2 months I've almost finished resident
evil 5, so good for me.
